Celestical is an independent European cloud computing platform built from the ground up to give developers and companies a sovereign alternative to large non-European cloud providers. The platform is optimized for AI workloads, modern cloud architectures (serverless and PaaS), and real world production use with a strong emphasis on performance, cost transparency, and sustainability.

Celestical aims to re-imagine European cloud infrastructure by combining:

Our Journey - From Space Engineering to Ground Servers Optimisation

The idea for Celestical started with a deep frustration shared by its founders: Europe lacked a truly independent cloud platform that was competitive on both performance and cost and that respected European legal and ethical standards. Instead of building on top of existing hyperscalers, the team chose to operate its own infrastructure deployed across key European tech hubs like Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Paris and Helsinki, bringing true sovereignty and resilience to its users.

The company grew organically from a small engineering team, incubated with support from European startup ecosystems, including TechQuartier and Station F. In April 2025, Celestical was even featured as Community Member of the Month, highlighting its use of space-grade engineering and its unique mission within the European tech community.

Who Is Red Boumghar - Vision & Values

Red Boumghar is the founder and driving force behind Celestical. With a PhD in Robotics and Autonomous Systems, he brings deep technical experience and an engineer’s precision to the challenge of building a sovereign cloud. Under his leadership, Celestical is not just another cloud provider it’s a stand for European digital sovereignty.
