Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)
Last updated: 2026-02-03 (February 2026) Applies to: All users of Celestical Cloud ("Celestical") services, including serverless, managed services, APIs, storage, networking, and related infrastructure (collectively, the "Services").
By using the Services, you agree to comply with this AUP, the Celestical Cloud Terms and Conditions ("Agreement"), and all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
1. Purpose and Scope
The purpose of this AUP is to define the acceptable and prohibited use of the Services and to ensure the security, reliability, and integrity of Celestical Cloud infrastructure.
This AUP applies to:
- Customers and their End Users
- Administrators, developers, and human and AI agents acting on behalf of a Customer
- Any third parties accessing or using the Services through a Customer's account
Violation of this AUP may result in Suspension of Services under Section 5 of the Terms and Conditions.
2. General Principles of Use
Users must use the Services:
- Lawfully, ethically, and responsibly
- Without compromising the security, availability, or integrity of the Services
- Without causing harm to Celestical, other customers, or third parties
Responsibility: You are fully responsible for all activities performed under your account, including those executed automatically by serverless functions, managed services, or API integrations.
3. Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited. They align with Section 4 of the Terms and Conditions regarding compliance, restrictions, and legal obligations.
3.1 Illegal or Unlawful Activities
You may not use the Services to:
- Violate any applicable EU, national, or international law, including export control or sanctions regulations
- Engage in fraud, identity theft, financial scams, or deceptive practices
- Store, distribute, or process illegal content, including but not limited to:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
- Terrorist propaganda
- Material in violation of applicable criminal laws
3.2 Security Violations and Abuse
You may not:
- Attempt unauthorized access to systems, networks, or data
- Circumvent authentication, security controls, or usage limits
- Conduct vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, or load testing without prior written authorization
- Deploy malware, ransomware, spyware, botnets, or cryptominers without explicit approval from Celestical
- Interfere with, disrupt, or degrade the Services or other customers' infrastructure
Note: Cryptomining is prohibited except as expressly approved (Terms and Conditions Section 4.3).
3.3 Network Abuse and Resource Misuse
You may not:
- Send or facilitate spam, phishing, or unsolicited communications
- Abuse bandwidth, APIs, or compute resources in a way that degrades service quality
- Operate open proxies, relay services, or anonymization endpoints intended to conceal unlawful activity
- Execute workloads that generate excessive load or instability without appropriate scaling, safeguards, or authorization
3.4 Intellectual Property Infringement
You may not:
- Store, distribute, or process content infringing copyrights, trademarks, patents, or other IP rights
- Distribute pirated software, media, or proprietary data without authorization
3.5 Harmful or Offensive Content
Unless explicitly permitted by law and contract, you may not use the Services to host or distribute content that:
- Is hateful, abusive, or incites violence
- Promotes discrimination based on protected characteristics
- Is obscene or otherwise unlawful under applicable regulations
4. Managed Services and Serverless Responsibilities
For managed and serverless services, Celestical Cloud manages the underlying infrastructure.
Customers remain responsible for:
- Application logic, data, and configurations
- Serverless function behavior and execution
- Compliance with data protection laws, including GDPR
You must ensure that applications and workloads deployed on managed or serverless services:
- Do not execute prohibited activities automatically or at scale
- Are reasonably secured and maintained
- Do not intentionally or negligently cause service disruption
These obligations align with Terms and Conditions Sections 4.1–4.5 and 6.2.
- Data Protection and Privacy
Users must comply with all applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
You agree to:
- Process personal data lawfully and only for legitimate purposes
- Implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to secure data
- Avoid processing sensitive or regulated data unless permitted under your service agreement
Celestical may monitor, log, or analyze traffic and activity for:
- Security and abuse prevention
- Compliance with laws and regulations
- Ensuring service reliability and quality
Users should have no expectation of absolute privacy when using the Services, consistent with Terms and Conditions Section 4.2.
- Enforcement
Violations of this AUP may result in:
- Suspension or restriction of Services (Terms and Conditions Section 5)
- Termination of access in cases of serious or repeated violations (Terms and Conditions Section 9)
- Legal action if required by law or for the protection of Celestical Cloud, its customers, or third parties
Celestical will endeavor to provide notice and opportunity to remediate when feasible and legally permissible.
